Cecilia had requested that we read The Little Mermaid, so she, Thomas, and I cuddled up on the bed and read the story. The story ends with Ariel and Prince Eric marrying.
When we finished reading, Thomas turned to me and told me, "I think I want to marry Charlotte actually."
Me: "Oh, that would be okay with me. Charlotte's a cutie, and she can even talk now (she's 21 months), which is lots of fun."
Thomas: thinking, then... "Mom, do you think Charlotte knows how to kiss?"
Me: trying not to laugh or look shocked, "Umm, probably. I suppose we could ask her mom."
Thomas: "Well, maybe I can just teach her."

Manchester Monarchs
Gramma and Papa took us to a Manchester Monarchs hockey game. The kids seemed to enjoy it. Eliana especially liked Max, the mascot. She could spot him across the arena, and would start squealing, and pointing. Afterwards, we went out to eat together. The restaurant had paper tablecloths and crayons for the kids. Cecilia loved it! She's been loving drawing and coloring lately.

The force is strong with this one...
So we told the kids I had a baby in my belly. Cecilia was very excited, eyes glowing: "I'm so glad mom has another baby in her belly!" Thomas exclaimed, "I hope it's a boy!", also very excited. Eliana was just laughing (she likes to join in, even though she clearly doesn't know what everyone is so excited about). Then, as we're going about our morning:
Thomas: "If it's a boy, you really should let me name him."
me: "Oh really? What would you name him?"
Thomas: "Luke Skywalker"
me: "Luke Skywalker Lomanno?"
Thomas: "Yes, then there'd really be a real Luke Skywalker in real life!"

and then there were 4...
No, I’m not referring to any college basketball tournament: Jessica and I are expecting our next child in September. The first trimester is complete, and we’ll hear the heartbeat for the first time this afternoon.
The kids (at least the two older ones) are excited; not surprisingly, Thomas is hoping for a brother. We won’t find out beforehand, but Jessica has her suspicions.
And no, we don’t know if this will finish the clan, and we’re not planning on moving to a house (yet).

Cartoon Festival
We took the kids to a cartoon festival on Saturday hosted by the Boston classical music station. It was held at Symphony Hall and they played old Looney Tunes on a big screen throughout the day. The highlight was probably the "musical petting zoo", where the kids got to try all different kinds of fun instruments. Here are some photos.

Cecilia's Party
Cecilia had her 5th birthday party yesterday! (I can't believe she's 5...) We rented the clubhouse so we'd have room for everyone. We had play stations set up--dress-up area, train set, crafts, and games. Matthew set up a studio and took some pics of the kids dressed up, which was fun. Cecilia wanted ice cream sundaes, which was nice and easy. I made some brownies to go with it, we had bananas, strawberries, jimmies, whipped cream. Mmmm... :) The kids had lots of fun!
